LL Acknowledges Inventory Issues

Without so much as a word from other Lindens until now, Torley LInden has commented on an earlier entry from today with a blog post. In the blog, they acknowledge that there have been some inventory issues, including the complete newbie wipe I am suffering, while linking to my original post about the issue. They offer some likely scenarios related to inventory issues and the steps to report them. Comments are turned off, which is probably a wise move considering how angry and scared some of the residents are.

Known victims of the wipe at this time are moo Money (me), Jaxi Morrison, wife of SLProfiles creator Yo Brewster, Tatiana Vanguard, and Forseti Svarog, of the Electric Sheep Company. If you are a victim of the newbie inventory wipe, please post a comment here and I will add your name to the list.

SLGadget!

Holy cats on fire! (which, by the way, smells awful) I was just informed of this new tool by none other than Yo Brewster, of SLProfiles.com: The SLGadget! It's got a ton of great features, notably the ability to see which of your friends is in the area within chat range; new powerful teleportation functions; and the ability to be paged by people who don't have access to SL, through your account on SLProfiles, among other neat features.

We're starting to see more interoperability with the 'Net/Intarwub/Matrix/Collection of Tubes, and it's an exciting time to be a resident. Now, if they could only come up with a way to keep my werefleas away ...

(Thanks, Mr. Brewster!)

Second Life Talk

Yo Brewster has done it again; given the spotlight to every resident who chooses to have one. First with SLProfiles.com, and now with SecondLifeTalk.com!

The concept is simple. In Yo's words: "Unlike most SL blogging sites, EVERY SLProfiles member is allowed to blog about their second life or even their first life." In other words, if you have a profile on SLProfiles.com (and if you don't, why not?), you can start blogging right away, and your posts will display on SecondLifeTalk.

Let's face it: Blogging is becoming more than simply an interesting diversion for those with too much time on their hands; it's quickly turning into a must-have for many professionals. You too can get started on a possible career-enhancing move by blogging about your life, your interests, what have you. Look where it got me! SecondLifeTalk.com is a great step in the right direction. If you don't have a free account with SLProfiles.com already, now's the perfect time to sign up.

(Thanks, Yo!)

Game SLave Wiki!

If you think that you're missing out on some great games in SL, you're probably right. How do you go about finding them, though? Yo Brewster has the answer: gameslavewiki.com!

This is a pretty thorough accounting of all the different games that are available in SL, with the site divided into sections such as Action, Casino, Word Games, etc. Each game has its own page, with relevant details like cost to play, SL location, and even a photo. I'll be using this to try out each game as I can, and post about what I find, so thank you, Yo!

This is also a Wiki, so anyone who feels that something has escaped the sieve can add their favorite game themselves. Bear in mind, however, that the greatest strength of any Wiki (its open architecture) is also its greatest weakness. Misinformation can be added as easily as true info can, so Caveat Emptor. However, this is a worthwhile use of your Internet Browsing Time. Game on!
