Those you in the twitterverse, and possibly other places, might have just found out that, according to rumour, LL is no longer responding to emails. They will, hereafter only respond to Live Chat or the Web Support Pages.

There is a side comment to the effect that this may not be universal: certainly there are people who still give out their email addresses, it would be interesting to suggest that, for example, Catherine Linden, in charge of PR, can't be reached that way. A policy statement would be useful, but I would suggest not holding your breath for that. There are mailing lists that still request email replies too, so presumably they don't count in this.

We all know SL is growing, and growing faster than LL, appreciably faster. However, is moving to a position of fewer routes of communication a good thing? In light of the earlier news about sexual ageplay in SL, I wonder if anyone will answer our emailed requests for a statement?

Today's update ran 45 minutes longer than scheduled due to a last minute glitch discovered in the email processing system. Apparently it didn't handle bounced emails very gracefully, and a lot of emails from the grid to external addresses bounce as undeliverable (as you'll notice if you IM people offline relatively regularly). The grid came back up at approximately 12:45pm SLT (US Pacific).

Group voting was taken offline approximately 30 minutes later due to a discovered memory leak. No ETA for restoration is available yet. No group votes until it's fixed.

Following my post on Moo Cards, I must ask this: Why can't I email photos I've already got in my inventory? Sure, there's the workaround -- Open your photo, save it to disk, send that as an attachment. But it really should be just a right-click option, amirite?

It's just funny how things you think are no-brainers just seem to slip right through the net. I just keep hoping that my little missives to the Intarwub will fall upon the right ears and make my life all better.

You have IMs set to go to email, right? It's about the only way people can reliably get in touch with you with online statuses unavailable (Unless you've got the Earthlink anti-spam filter, or some other callback-and-confirm anti-spam system running, in which case you just can't get them at all apparently).

Well, Linden Lab are changing the sender address format a bit. For some of you this won't mean much at all. Others of you may need to adjust their filters. Instead of doing a bazillion (technical term) database lookups to handle session keys (currently they look like this: 62e8ae91-0b9f-d754-dfa8-aea65999949e@im.secondlife.com) the new system will have sender and receiver information encoded into it like this: 1taRxmON1vBQ-KdZRaE1yAC3-dwuXHz76eH9cOvqa7RW7Cg3LXXiLw==@im.agni.lindenlab.com.
